I can see where you're coming from Larry. I learned binary hex keypunch programming in college, was fascinated by it, but found work in other areas, didn't follow a computer-related path back then. I went from a binary hex cave background to Windows 3.1 (skipped DOS completely) on the first PC I bought for my own home use (a time frame of 15 years). I still have 3.1 on my desktop, and it works just fine for what I need it to do. It boots faster, and is still easier to use in my opinion than any of the newer MS operating systems.
Take care of the squakers!
