The LE's I had picked up for a few reasons. When I first got into collecting Hard rock chips, I picked up many from the cage during the various releases I could attend. I picked them up to trade for other Hard Rocks that I needed. I would also throw a few up on ebay. I visited other Las Vegas and Laughlin casinos, and managed to pick up a lot there as well, again intended to be traded.
As I travel around the country on business, I stop at many casinos and also pick up a few LE's to use in trades. Do this for 7 years...and PRESTO...I end up with thousands. Just from the Hard rock alone I easily had around 1,000, then add to it another couple thousand from other Nevada casinos. My logic was flawed. Here I am picking up LE's all the time, and I don't even collect LE's other then Hard Rock. So I sit with them. I can't trade many of them, because people want to trade LE's for LE's. Like I said, my logic was flawed.
I wasn't forced to sell them off because I needed the money....I needed to sell them off and cash them in because I have way too many of them.
Ross Poppel, who also shared my table, had the exact same situation, and like me returned many to the cage.
As far as I am concerned, it's the perfect time for LE collectors to snatch up some great chips at some great prices.
