I agree with everything you said. Well almost. Across the street fron the Riv is Slots a Fun. $1 and $3 BJ with decent rules 24/7. In fact, I hate to say it, but I didn't gamble at the Riv at all. I had some $5 match play coupons but they only had $10 tables for the whole week. At the Riv 80% of the tables were empty when across the street the tables were full. What does that tell you? I was even surprised that the cocktail waitress came around regularly there.
