Actually, it isn't the BB that is the problem, it is the browser. Some choke on special characters, some don't. The BB is sending the code to the browser no problem, then it is up to the browser to figure out if it wants to display it or not.

On the other hand, if the files had been uploaded to my server using the file upload utility above it becomes a different matter. My upload utility will accept some pretty wild file names, but that is only the upload part.

To keep people from using those images elsewhere, like ebay, etc., and running up my bandwidth bill, I keep them in a directory that isn't web accessible. The only way they can be displayed is by using the special url that checks to see if the request is coming from one of my domains, then only feeds back the image if that is the case. That program is pretty picky and won't feed back an image if it has certain special characters in the file name.
