Edge printing is entirely random on all chipcos.
You will even find stacker sets have edge print in opposite directions at times.

Regarding the 'crispness'. Its uncommon to find them with a blurred edge but it does happen. I just cheked my Bingo Ellie stock. I have 31 $1's and one chip has slightly blurred print on the edge.
