Just a note on emoticons and the way Greg's software treats angle
brackets. Most of us have gotten used to putting our grins or other
emotions in the brackets you find on the comma and period keys on your
keyboard. The software on this board will try to turn this into HTML
code and, assuming your emotion doesn't represent a real piece of code,
will just delete it.

You have to use one of the other kinds of brackets to grin here. Try
[these square brackets] or {these braces}. They seem to survive.
