I read through all the posts (well, except for the Canada tangent; I'll go read those in a sec), and I think you have a very neat idea there, Cigarman. But instead of a "handout" (for lack of a better term), would a raffle work? I wouldn't have a problem buying a $1 or $5 ticket for an equal chance as anyone else who bought one, to offset whatever expenses would be covered by the winnings. Just a thought.
