The first resort casino I stayed at was the old Frontier when I was a 14-year-old. The pool was in front and I lay on a lounge chair watching the beauties wander back and forth. A few years later my then bride and I stayed there on the way to California; we had a $20 budget for the night; got a Cabana for $12!
supper for $1 each (served family styled with green beans, iced tea, chicken and desert;
and after losing $5 on the slots we went across the blvd to the Desert Inn - watched a Billy Eckstine with free drinks. I gave one of my last two dollars to my wife; she put the whole thing on a $5 spot on the big wheel...and won...then refused to split it with me. Bummer.
So I loved the old place.
