Memorial Day which originally was May 30th, then became a monday holiday, is a rememberance of those that sacrificed their lives. Originally Union Soldiers. My dear departed Grandmother was born on May 30th, we used to go to Mass and to my Grandfather's grave on her birthday. I feel it is an opportunity to celebrate those that served our community in other ways.

Veteran's Day is a celebration of living Vets. But I still try to remember those who are still serving and those that are gone.
