This is a classic, rotten eBay auction description for what I know are common worthless chips. Among the outrageous stuff is:
* the awful (yet typical) title -- seems the more they promise, the worse it is): "2 OUTSTANDING ENGRAVED POKER CHIPS AWES@ME!!!!"
* the asinine decription: ( a few inches down; he says they are fantastic/great, but he doesn't know what they are made of, when or where!)
"This is a fantastic pair of yellow engraved poker chips. I am not sure of what they are made
out of, or when they are from, but they each have the number 25 engraved on both sides.
They are both in very good condition. This is a great piece and would make an excellent
addition to your collection. Buyer pays $1.00(US) shipping, more for foreign, and payment is
expected within 7 days of my notification to you of the end of the auction. Please E-Mail with
any questions BEFORE bidding. Have fun and good luck bidding. Thanks"
* here is the URL to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=294941288
* look at the high opening bid
* The Club or some unofficial group should have good-guy-collectors, who DO NOT auction on eBay, write sellers and, especially, the bidders with the truth about travesty auctions.
* finally, it is noteworthy that a seller like this can make outrageous claims that are so subjective ("great addition to your collection,"" fantastic chips"", rare," etc.) that he probably violated no law. It is obscene the way they say whatever enters their mind -- fantasy island!
