I am heading to LV in a few weeks and need some help regarding transportation from the airport.

Last couple years we have had some issues with a couple of the shuttle services at McCarran. Drivers who pressure you for more tips and last year we double paid for some of our passengers. While in a rush at the airport, the driver said that he wasn't paid for one couple in our group. So, I paid thinking that they may have forgotten or something. I later learned that they had paid the driver and that the driver either had mistaken someone else as being part of our group, miscounted his money or had worse, shaken me down for extra money ($15).

This year my girlfriend and I are arriving alone and not part of a group. Therefore shuttle BUSES may not be necessary aside from cost savings. Also, our flight arrives kind of late and if there is any delay, I am concerned that we won't arrive before the shuttle stands close. One year we got in too late and by the grace of God, a shuttle had pulled up to drop off some passengers. He saw us and pulled around to pick us up. He said that if he hadn't happened by we could have been sitting there till 6am.

So, the question is if anyone has any experiences, warnings or recommendations of who we should call. I know I can call ahead and leave a reservation to assure that someone would be there when we arrive. Who has best service and rates? Would it be better to get a private car or will they still extend rates for a shutte if it is late and just the two of us?

From looking at Bell Trans website I see a difference between about $15 for the shuttle and voucher for return trip reservation (we will be returning to the airport with a larger group from the same hotel) and about $45 for a private car. From my recallection I think the shuttles are all similar in price but what about private car rates?
