Robert; I don't collect clay poker chips. Maybe those collectors are more forgiving. I have a particular penchant for roulette chips that have the word "roulette" at top dead center in relationship to the center inlay. Something like Greg had mentioned in his post with the edge insert alignments. It's probably no big deal to others, but it's a quirk I have.

Listen; I'm the buyer. I bid on what I see, not what I don't see. If a roulette chip was offered that interested me with the word "roulette" at the 12:00 o'clock position in the mold, I do expect that's the chip that will be sent to me if I was the high bidder. The attitude, "send the buyer anyone of my duplicates ... he/she won't care" I find very offensive if a specific image of a chip was offered for sale on ebay.

As for Jim Episale's solution of a full refund, no questions asked if unhappy with the purchase; why should a buyer have to go through the return process? Sell the chip that you have offered, or else put in a disclaimer to the effect that "this chip may not be the actual one you receive". "I reserve the right to substitute."
