I'm not being defensive, I'm engaging in the discussion, although it admittedly is has the elements of a debate, which is Ok also.
There is no chip I would pay that 2K for. I don't want any chips that I need to put in my safe. I like to have them on my shelf near my desk, where I can take them out and look at them. My safe is for the real world, which is far more foreboding than chipping can ever be.
If others wish to spend that kind of money on chips, that is their affair. However, slabbing in its current context, with the hobby as it is, presents a risk to the hobby.
If I were to invest 2K in a chip, and I was in fact defrauded, then I would not be shy about using the tools that were available to me to achieve justice.
