Two things to consider, though; many of us enjoy staying in part of "old Las Vegas"; if you choose digs that are two pricey, many of us will have to choose lodging at a location other than the venue where the convention is held. Last year I stayed at the Stardust because I expected that it was my last chance to do so. But this year we are staying four of our seven nights at the Riviera in order to support the club. The other three will be at non-strip hotels, both for the cheaper rates and for the better gambling/food bargains. Please don't make the convention an elitest event!
