I heard about that event the next day. I'm sorry that I missed it. Another cool website that celebrates downtown Las Vegas is http://www.veryvintagevegas.com/. It's actually a realtor's site, but they have great pictures and stories about the residential areas downtown.

By the way, one of the owners and main contributors of the website just bought my house. I'm in the process of moving.

If you go to the main page of his website, scroll down to the Sunday, April 8, 2007 entry about the house with the round doors. That's was Jackie Gaughan's house up until about three years ago. Doyle Brunson also owned it for a few years back in the 1980's. I live directly across the street and have been to numerous parties and dinners at that house. Next time we get together, I'll tell you stories about the house, Jackie, and Doyle that I won't publish on the Internet!! It's an awesome house! Take the tour on the website.

In the process of house-hunting, I looked at Ted Binion's original house just a few blocks away. Many of the fixtures were straight out of the Horseshoe! It was a cool house, but too big for me. The nice thing about it is that you can go out the second floor master onto a balcony and look down at Bob Stupak's house! I just LOVE this neighborhood!!
