Doug Kalitta's Top Fuel dragster is sponsered by MGM Grand. He won the Gatornationals yesterday. Here is the final round results:

4:22 PM Kalitta's last final round was at the 1999 AAA Finals, which he won. Schumacher's was the CSK Nationals, which he won. Here Kalitta got a big win, the MGM Grand Top Fuel drifting left and almost crossing the centerline - the key word being "almost." His rear wheel appeared to touch the stripe, but didn't cross it, and Kalitta put a sprint car move on it, yanking the car back to the groove without lifting. Schumacher ran according to form, but Kalitta proved quicker on this run and Schumacher will have to be content with increasing his points lead over Gary Scelzi to 34 points today. That's it, only one fuel car oildown all day, by event winner Doug Kalitta in the semifinals. Final eliminations lasted 5 hours 27 minutes, the quickest ever. The new rules appear to be working as intended because we saw plenty of close racing all day today and the only break in the action was between the semifinals and finals, to give the finalists time to prepare their cars.
