Thanks for the link Travis. Used to stay at the Trop before I got to chippin' and I like to drive down there during the Riv shows, park in the back and walk through the the Island Tower and out to the Four Corners. They're going to knock down the Island Tower I hear for their next interation. Probably going to make the same wrong choices they've made for the last 10 years.

Gonna miss the Island Tower. I remember the walkway over the pool area used to have tropical birds and lizards rather than the sunglasses and sh*t they sell there now. Riding the elevator up to my room with a couple of bikini'd Hawaiian Trop Pagent contestants headed for theirs. And those silly/fun mirrors on the ceiling in the Island Tower rooms. Had some fine conventions there for sure. Stupak standing in the middle of the casino after his banquet keynote appearence that one year and everyone throwing questions and such at him, nice, nice fella. Never did go back to the coffee shop after having to listen to Snoop Doggy Dog all through breakfast once. Sheesh. Steve Cutler's place through the funky Trop sportsbook and past the hotdogs and coffee.

Fun to visualise all the wise guys lurking at the Tropicana back in the day. My favorite Las Vegas story ever is Lefty Rosenthal describing his first visit to LV and the knock on his door as soon as he made it to his room at the Trop. Find it here:
