I'm playing cards earlier (poorly), the wife of a client (somebody who I had represented) shows up here in hysterics (wailing about the cops wanting to search her house).
Her hubby is in county, they searched it before he went, and she is clean as driven snow. Several police cars (with dog) show up. Officer comes to her door. She goes running out back door (screaming bloody murder according to officer I spoke with), she gets a friend to drive her here.
I tell her if they are going to search there is nothing I can do. If she hasn't brought anything in, they won't find anything. She needs to go back and cooperate, if I go, it will cost her. She has to have me go with her, so I make her wait while I finish losing, then go with her.
Police are not at her house, but in a neighbors garage. I talk to officer I know, and they found a suspected meth lab. They were going to nearby neighbors to evacuate them, just in case of chemical issues.
They knew she wasn't all there, so when she went screaming to her friend's, they were fine with that (mission accomplished). No chemincals, found it before any cooking (batteries, coffee filters, etc). She was welcome to return to her home sorry about inconvenience.
She is so pleased I made them go away. She wants to know what she owes me. Would it be wrong to ask the police to stop by once a wekk to check up on her?
