I used to play a lot of backgammon and shoot a lot of pool. Had a real nice stck and a leather cased game. They got stolen out of my truck in college. A year later, a guy was playing backgammon at the student Union, and some friends saw the game (my cue was in his apartment), so were boxes of stuff reported stolen. They ended up selling most of it at a police auction because nobody ever reprted it, or claimed it.
