So as a compermise, we let you stay, but took away your magazine.

1. "weather" refers to climate. You meant "whether."
Here's a good way to remember it:
"Whether the weather is cold, or whether the weather is hot...
we'll be together whatever the weather, whether we like it or not." That means you're stuck with me
