Probably you have read my earlier post that we shortly (maybe this year) we finally get a casino in our capital Brussel. It will be the 9th casino in Belgium. ALTOUGH..... here is a scan of a jeton from Casino Brouckere. It was an illegal casino in the basement of Hotel Métropole, Place Brouckere, Brussels. This illegal casino was raided during the summer of 1978 by lots of Police officers, Costums officers and a Criminal Police (kind like your FBI) officers.
They confiscated lots of material, all visitors where noted, the owner jailed and so on. I do not know the fine details but it was a whole situation.
Anyway, I am fortuned enough to have a jeton from them.
I am trying to scan a jeton from the early 1920 from a Private Club called L'epatant. Also from Brussels, during the 'Annee folles' ,'crazy years' from the early 1920 till 1933 there where quite a few of the Private Club where gambling was allowed, 'tolerated' during that period. But the jeton is so old that it is difficult to get a good scan. I try some different ways and keep you posted if you want.
Only 4 months to the Convention...
