I've actually been debating staying downtown the next time I go. My mother, however, dreads it thinking that downtown isn't that safe. But I think downtown has more appeal than the Strip. I like the old stuff, what can I say?

I was actually giving some though to staying at the Golden Gate. Any recommendations?
