Phil,
It's a shame that you never made it to the museum at the Trop...it was awesome!

I'm not aware of anything similar, but the Clark County Museum (on Boulder Highway) was pretty neat. They have what they call "Heritage Street" with 6 restored buildings/houses that you can walk through, including PJ Goumond's house. PJ was one of the original founders of the Boulder Club. They also have a museum building with some old casino items (pictures below). The craps table in the picture is from the Castaways. Admission was about $1.50. Google "Clark County Museum" for more info and directions.

Another museum that might interest you is the
?Nevada State Historical Museum? in Lorenzi Park. Among other things on display, they have the original door from Bugsy's suite in the Flamingo Hotel, also a chandelier that they say is from Bugsy's suite (though at least one Bugsy/Flamingo expert questions the authenticy of the chandelier). They have other casino items on display, too. They also have other changing displays...I saw the desert love buggy from the Helldorado parades, Phyllis saw neon signs. It's worth checking out! grin
