CDI=Controlled Demolition Incorported(I think I have it right). Is a family owned business of the Lausso(??? spelling)Family. That's what this family does for a living. They and their staff go all over the world doing this. It was started by the father years ago. His 2 sons and 1 of their daughters is running it now. They do the planning, set up, setting of the charges, etc themselves. CDI has done ALL of the implosions that has been done in Las Vegas in the past.

No computers are used to time when the explosions go off. As I understand it. From watching the TV documentary below. There is ONLY 1 cord to the explosion area. And ONLY 1 button to push in a box. Or 1 plunger to push or hit on. To cause the building to blow up. Sometimes for safety reasons or requirements there might be 2 buttons side by side. That has to be pushed at the same time to cause the implosion. However, there is usually only 1 thing to push. The timing of the explosion is done by using certain types of primer cord. And some special little delay fuses. Along the primer cord and other timing tricks that they know. NO computer is used in the actual exploding sequence. To determine when a certain explosive charge will go off.

There has been a TV documentary on CDI and the Lausso family. I know of 1 maybe 2. On satellite --Direct TV-- several times in the past. On Discovery or/and The History Channel. In the program about a half a dozen implosions are shown. Also, in the program the family talks about past "jobs" implosions. Including A few of those in Las Vegas. As well as explaining some of the things that has to be done. And how it's done and some of the timing and planning that goes into a implosion. Also what, how, and why certain types of explosion material is used.

If anyone happens to get the chance to see this documentary on them. I highly suggest that you watch it. I found it very interesting, informative, and I was amazed at what they could do, with explosives. As well as how LITTLE THE AMOUNT OF EXPLOSIVES it takes. To bring down a building. I think you would be very surprised.

This is how I understand how imploding is done. I think I have it pretty close to right. I hope I have helped others to better understand how this is done.

As a suggestion for future speakers at the CC>CC Convention. I think that a family member from CDI. Be asked to be the main speaker at the banquet. I think everyone would find this interesting. Especially since that CDI has done all the Las Vegas hotel implosinos in the past. They could concentrate on their Las Vegas implosions in their talk.
