A chip just like this just went for $3,200+ on eBay. Unfortunately, it is likely a Tahoe City, California chip based on the T.R. King ID below.

The I.D. was requested by Howard Herz in 1999, and shows the chip as being from the Tahoe Tavern. The bad news is that the Tahoe Tavern is located in Tahoe City, CA. The address on the card is listed as unknown.

If you go to www.tavernproperties.com, it shows the place today, and mentions that they operated a casino in the past. Also, the Tahoe passenger boat departed from here many years ago.

The $25 chip that matches this $5 chip, and is mentioned at the bottom of the scan is listed as a 3rd issue Showboat in the C+W book.

I would love to have proof that this is not a CA chip, but a Lake Tahoe or Las Vegas chip, but based on what I know, it is a California chip.
