Janice and I along with two other couples drove to Las Vegas to see Eric Clapton Saturday. All day I had been feeling uneasy with my breathing, I’ve got Pulmonary Hypertension, but attributed that to the smoke in the casinos we visited and a lot of running around. While walking to our seats prior to the concert my breathing became bad all of a sudden and Janice and I were going to give it up. The others wouldn’t have any of that.
The guys stayed with me leaning against a wall and the ladies went to find help. They found a very nice lady hostess in a green jacket (didn’t get her name unfortunately) and she told them to go see a man nearby who was in a black suit (his name – we think – was Keeler). Well, Mr. Keeler switched Jan’s and my tickets, got me a wheel chair and we sat in the handicapped area with some very nice people. At the end of the concert a security guy wheeled me out to where our friends could pick me up. I am very grateful to the MGM people who helped me and a little embarrassed at the fuss. We’re back home and I’m feeling ok now.
Erik Clapton? A terrific concert and boy does he have a talented group of musicians with him, unreal. All of the music was great and well worth the hassle. If you get the opportunity to see him on this tour you should. All of his music was well received, “Layla” drew a spectacular reception but “Cocaine” took the crowd over the top, no physiological connection intended. Great show.
