I know what I am going to do but would like insight from others.
On February 22 I sold a large lot of leather working tools to a buyer in Ontario, Canada.I shipped it on the 23rd and insured.
They were shipped by Airmail. He has yet to recieve them and is really grumpy. It has been 15 days and often Canadian Mail takes 30 days or more.
We did the trace and it is showing "Left United States from Chicago O'Hare at 1010, March 3."
Now, he has filed a complaint with PayPal and they are holding the money until resolution.
Later, he is demanding and none too politely that I refund his money and if he does get the package he will refund to me less shipping. Yeah, right.
Am I missing something here? We called the USPS International Shipping number and they filed a trace with the Canadian post office. We were told this could take 60 days but at any rate we can't file an insurance claim until 30 days has elapsed.
This guy just keeps getting more unreasonable. All I know is Canadian Mail sucks.
So my question is: When it shows leaving the United States from Chicago, the package is in Canada. Is that correct?
PayPal says they don't regard a stamped customs form or a stamped insurance slip as evidence of shipping. So, what do you do.
THe value on this shipment was $355.00...It surely won't make me or break me but just frustrating that this scumbag can file a claim against me. He paid I shipped and I left positive feedback.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
