The slot is a 1930's Mills War Eagle. Sometime in the 1950's a fellow named Richard DeLong, in Pennsylvania, carved the Indian to go with the War Eagle.
It is where it is because that's where the truckers unloaded it and I cycled it a few times. The action is good, but nickels get stuck in the feed of the escalator. Just a few jiggles of the operating handle helps it fall and then it works.
Paint is chipping and mechansim is saturated with oil and WD-40. I'm heading to the slot show in Chicago at the end of the month and will drop it off with one of the restorers. I've also got an early 30's Pace Comet that was worked over pretty badly so I'd like to get that restored as well. It's and FOK vendor, but it also has holes in the case for skill stops and a future pay window. I'd like to get the mechanisms installed.
I'm also picking up a little Mills vest pocket that needs repair at my old home up there.
Once all are home I'll Feng Shui the heck out of the place. The gunman, if he's a good guy, wouldn't stand where a stray shot could damage the slot. It's bad to have to shoot through a chuck-a-luck. Distracting. The table in the left rear is a Faro table.
My pair of Pace Bantams is Feng Shui'd for all get out. The one on the left is 1933 (1c) and the one on the right is 1928 (25c).
