"But you're thinking that even if it was a real place it probably didn't use the Stardust chips for gambling, and the 'boys' who opened the Stardust in 1958 didn't use the Newport chips as a pattern?"

I'm not ready to say that but that is what I am thinking.
Here is a database listing someone found for me.
"Stardust was listed as a strip joint from 1959? in the business dbase I looked at."
Strip joint, Sally Rand 1965.
It says a lot.
Tito and the boys did their little thing on Ratterman in late 60 if I remember right. It ended 30 years of wide open gambling in Newport like a train wreck. I talked to Tito a few years ago and never thought to ask him about the Stardust.

Sorry I did not mean to bust your bubble. I have a bad habit of saying whats on my mind. grin
As Larry and the Newport boys know I ask the tough questions when I see chip attributations I do not understand.

Here is what I think I know about the LV Stardust.
Tony Cornero had oversold the Stardust to several families. When he did the BIG flip on the DI crap table, he did himself a favor. Moe was asked to step in and straighten out the mess, get it open and start recouping $.

Moe was a Cleveland man. He really never had much to do with Newport. Cleveland bankrolled a few places like Beverly after they took it away from Schmidt. Sammy Schrader had parts of many joints in Cincinnati and Newport. He had much more to say for the area than Moe.

This is just a guess for now.
If Sally Rand appeared at a girly joint named the Stardust in 1965, then the joint more than likely copied the LV Stardust logo.
