There is Epspn Perfection 4990 Photo and then there is the Epson Perfection 4990 Pro.

The price ranges between $200 to $600 the capabilities are more at higher prices.

Seriously I might settle for above average Epson capabilities. I am not sure yet though. There is a newer CNET review on Epson 4990 Models.
