I've told this story before on the BB.
Bugsy chip below was my 1st chip, among others.
I was playing in a poker game in 1963 with Martin Miller operator of the Merchants Club (Newport, KY illegal).
Several of the Newport operators were in the game including "Sleepout" Louie Levision (Yorkshire Club). Martin and I had became good friends in over 2 years of playing poker. The Illegals had closed by this time. Martin was running a bingo in the Merchants and I was running a bingo in The Sportsman Club for Screw Andrews who was on a federally funded vacation in Terra Haute, IN.
Martin gave me a bag of chips and said "hang onto these boy, they will be worth something someday."
Most were KY illegals. Several NV chips in the bag. Martin was a steady visitor to LV. He managed to keep himself short on $ on any crap table he could find.
Side note: Martins exwife, Nicky Ball, was a player in the mob world. She was shot and killed in front of the Desert Inn. She became the subject for one of the books about the mob. Maybe Syndicate Wife, my memory isn't up to par this early in the AM.
Anyhow, my 1st chip turned into a good one and 45 years of seeking history on the chips I collect.
BTW, as you can see, it is one of my 1st scans on my 1st computer in 1996.
