Just to add to Don's post. If you reserve online with Alamo, you can get a very good rate. Remember to call back frequently though, rental car companies are known for changing their rates frequently. If you're going to go on chip runs you're going to want a car.

I've got two non casino places to eat. La Strada near Hard Rock Cafe and Capazolli's on Maryland at Desert Inn are a few of my favorite Italian restaurants. La Strada's was turned onto me by Bill Akeman.

I enjoy GN and Main Street because I can get in and out quickly. I still enjoy the Hilton LV for that reason too. Actually I avoid the strip hotels unless I'm going to stay put.
