I am sorry the sentence I wrote was awkward. The point I was trying to make is as follows: Bud Jones quit using the clay blanks that would give rise to the C&J H&C when he and Christy split. The clay was very dense and when stuck with pressure to create the mold would leave what the coin people would call - a proof-like surface within the hat & cane design.
The individual DonL is referring to is Doug Saito. He sold the Flamingo Capri 2 for 1 and the Nevada starter chips. Both chips were taken on consignment from an individual who obtained them BEFORE Boreland made chips. It was obvious from look the chips were finished and shined with that C&J look. Best, Jim
