Doesn't matter if you just played 40,000 hands or 120,000 hands, the odds are 1 in 40,000 that you will get dealt a Royal Flush.
Since the game uses a fresh deck, shuffled, each hand (unless that changed again!) You could hit a Royal Flush and clear the machine and hit a Royal Flush.
Easier way of putting it, is the PAST has no relationship to the odds in the FUTURE.
The machine doesn't know if it's just paid out or hasn't. It doesn't know if someone made a bad play and missed a royal or what the last hand was.
It's just an unthinking, theoretically random number generator, connected to a machine.
Now humans are a different animal, and we find patterns in things, that aren't there. A "hot" machine, a lucky shirt, or rubbing the glass before pulling the handle on the machine.
All the handle does, it trip a switch the same as the button on the front, but it sure feels different!
