"I just want to collect chips and be left alone." God, I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard or read the above statement. However, life being what it is "things" are just not that simple.

John Benedict stated a concept in one of his posts that is very important to ME and possibly others. The concept that any "Going Concern" must grow and expand or it will stagnate and die. If this "Going Concern" entity should stay in place satisfied where it is at - it will wither and die.Our club is standing still. If it has grown in membership it is because of this board, Ebay and the internet in general NOT BECAUSE of any action of our club. This indirect growth is great but not exactly what I had in mind when I voted for the current board.

Don King the fight promoter who I know very well has an expression "People are my greatest asset". He would include this expression on all flyers, advertisements, etc that were printed from Don King Enterprises. Let me for a moment borrow his expression and apply it to our organization. In the last six months we have lost valuable individuals who contributed greatly too and for our organization. In a very select few cases the club has found wonderful and talented people to replace those "lost" individuals. Wayne T. for Mike S is but one example.However, in most cases these lost "assets" have NOT BEEN REPLACED. Consequently, instead of the club obtaining more volunteers to get various jobs done, we have less. In some cases none at all. This to me is a sign of stagnation.

We have lost Janice O'Neal. A very valuable "asset" who was replaced with Ken H. Nothing more needs to be stated. I believe Bob Ginsburg has said it all in his post. Another sign of club stagnation. We have lost the services of her husband Jerry. Both of these "assets" would staff the club table at the various chip and token shows. Who staffs the club table now??? I believe John you know the answer to my question. More stagnation.

I could go on and on. However, than my post would appear as board "bashing". I am not board bashing. You asked for an explanation and I have tried to give it to you.

I stop by Bill's new location at Gamblers to shoot the "bull". Bill has flyers for the club convention on the counter. Where did he get the flyers? Janice O'Neal made them and put them on his counter. I am not putting down Rene but for Gods sake Bills is the only chip store in Las Vegas. If we don't put flyers for the convention in his shop where do we put them????

I'm done for now. I hope you get a better insight into what my concerns are John. I guess Don King's statement really rings true. I will take the liberty to chnage it as it applies to our organization. "People are OUR only asset" and we are running out of them. Best, Jim
