I just downloaded and installed SeaMonkey last night. I'm running on an older WIN98SE computer and don't really want to change from Netscape mail. I like the idea that active X worms and viruses are ignored and can't do anything nasty.
SeaMonkey is nothing but a fancy name for a Mozilla 2 suite, which includes a Mail Package.
It copies all of you messages, folders, settings, Etc. and you have a nice browser that is more modern than 7.2.
Now about PDF. On older systems, like mine, the highest number I've been able to run is Adobe PDF Reader 6.0 It's not perfect and I keep getting the message to upgrade to 7.0 (no thanks) SOmetimes I download PDFs and it says done, and nothing happens, but if I ignore it, while the invisible gears in the computer, churn, it comes up.
Newer PDF creators like PDF995 and Adobe PDF writer 7 make files that are smaller, but sometimes can't be read by older versions.
We're up against two walls here. PDF versions that aren't backwards compatable and browser hangups.
Anyway, if you are a Netscape fan like I am, get SeaMonkey. This computer wouldn't run Firefox, but it will operate SeaMonkey.
