I was trying to sell my Odyssey HOT REELS slot machine, and 8 days in (on a 10 day listing), 20 watchers, over 300 looks, and plenty of "good" questioning emails; I get the dreaded email "eBay has cancelled your listing, blah, blah, blah...
No rule was violated, yet do they email you to clarify anything? The funny thing is I'm MORE qualified than most on eBay to sell this slot; why? Because of my being in the gaming industry, I NEED to make sure that Nevada Gaming Regs are respected (I could easily lose my job if I try to take a short cut). IOW: a form needs to be sent to gaming to detail the sale - so if Nevada Gaming doesn't like it, it AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. So WTF does eBay care?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Wanna know what the reel problem with eBay is regarding slot sales?
They have arbitrarily decided that 25+ years are O.K. since approx 30 state feel that way (that they are O.K.). The hilarious part to this, is that eBay is ignoring the number of states where slots are illegal, no matter how old...
Less than 10 years, however, is where eBay gets reely worried for some reason; only 11 states allow residents to own them, and so - why not make them impossible to buy/sell on eBay?!?!?!?!?
WHATEVER! This is America, I'm doing everything above board, and I'm just pickled-pink that I'm able to save a totally RIDICULOUS slot from IGT's scrap-heap. Now, if only somebody from was the winning bidder, then I could add to the miracle...
-For fun, see the linked (below) Silver Legacy Mini-Baccarat table listing, to see how I kept my "hard-core" buyers informed! NOBODY looks for tables on eBay, yet after I revised the title; over 100 looks...
Come-on, tickle me! I PROMISE I won't bite the crap out of your finger!!! REELY!!!
