More important than what the grading system will be is how it will be used. In the coin hobby, there is a grading system sanctioned by the ANA. All ANA member dealers are suppose to abide by it. They don't. There is no penalty for a dealer that does not use it. The only requirement for ANA dealers is that if a customer is not happy with his purchase that the dealer must take back the coin and issue a refund. This system leads to tons of abuse. Basically, there are a significant number of coin dealers who will sell over-graded, altered (cleaned) or otherwise deficient coins. If the customer wants a refund, they'll give one, relunctantly. If the customer doesn't want a refund, they're stuck with junk. That's why I am out of the coin hobby.
What will the CC>CC require members to do as far as use of the grading system? In that there is not much difference in the value of chips from one grade to another (especially in comparison to coins) the use of a grading system is not that critical.
If a grading system causes enough controversy as to divide the hobby and results in the loss of any of the membership, then it is not a wise idea.
