I bought this huge lot of chips on ebay a few days back, some of you may have seen it, anyway...the majority of the lot consists of cheap plastic chips that you would likely buy at a drugstore, but all of the chips have been hotstamped and some drilled. Some you can read the names of legit casinos under the hotstamp, like grand casino in biloxi, maxim, etc. There are over a thousand of these.

Why would anyone go to the trouble of hotstamping and drilling plastic chips? Some have denominations on them, some have NCV. Would these have been used in the poker rooms when poker was not so popular? Like I said they are cheap plastic chips. There are some that say hoyle on them, they're smaller, though.

Most of the chips have a dragon scrolled around the edge.
