While getting the previously posted tray at a local antique store, I also came across this "error" chip at a very good price.

The error is that it is yellow, just like the $1 version! But this particular chip has a defect in the brass core.

Looking at the side shown on the left, you can see that part of the dollar symbol is missing, as is the lower right-hand corner of the numeral 2 and the lower left-hand corner of the "Harrah's" block.

The other side (shown on the right) appears completely OK.

Since all the missing brass portions have yellow plastic in-place, it appears that the brass casting was defective.

Anyone see it differently?
