Archie

Since I work with the web for a living. Why you could see some but not other images was really starting to bother me. After looking into it for a little while, this was what I found.

- Everyone should be able to see the following
Skinny
500 Club
- Everyone should be have trouble seeing the following
Dean & Jerry
Frank Sinatra

The reason why we have trouble viewing Dean and Frank is because even though you named the files as "1960sinatra500club.jpg" etc, they are NOT JPG files.

Just because you named a file with a file name extension of ".jpg" does not change the file to that format. It has to be "saved" as a JPG format along with the ".jpg" file name extention. From what I can tell, both of those files are currently saved as BITMAPs. Re-saving them should do the trick. Remember that on the web, only GIF and JPG are supported.

If you are not sure whether your saved files are really saved in JPG format. Just look at the file sizes. GIF and JPG files are much smaller in size than Bitmaps. As an example, your Skinny file was only about 25K in size, whereas the Dean was 296K in size. GENERALLY speaking, most JPG or GIF are usually way under 100K in size. If not, something is usually very wrong.

As for naming files. The Dean Martin file was named "martin.lewis.jpg" and the 500 Club file was named "500club.plate.jpg". Its not a good idea to have more than one period in the file name. Browsers look for that period to tell what file type extensions. Suggestion would be to rename those files to something like "martin_lewis.jpg".

Sorry for the long-winded response. Hope this helps.
