Yes, both my wife and I were shocked. I found out via an email from a chipper who said that he had put in a $30 bid and was outbid. It was at $36.51 the last time I looked and I didn't really expect it to go for more than the $31 bid on it the first day.
I know how it can be when you really want a chip. I recently put in a proxy bid for the full "Official Price Guide" mint state amount. Luckily, I got it for about half the maximum but it was something I wanted to complete an obsolete set. I don't fully understand this guy bidding so high on a new, unknown chip.
