Re: Brass-core Chip Question
In Response To: Brass-core Chip Question ()

The owner of the Top of the Vine Casino also owns Royce 600 who is the manufacturer of brass core chips in Southern California just over the "Grapevine" highway #5. This company was purchased from Reliable Die Casting in 1995. The owner, Jim Pontillo made a one dollar chip with "Top of the Vine " in very small letters and later decided to make another issue with large letters above the $1. What is interesting for those with a "loop" (Don), is that he used the Viejas "Eagle" at the bottom of the first issue with small letters!!!. Compare the "Eagle" with that of the Calif. Indian Casinos , Viejas logo. Guess they did not take the die and he used part of it for his own use. If there is a chip with "top of the Mark".....I hope it is not brass, 'cause I do not know of any. Ask Don to sscan his $4 red Anniversay chip for all to see, because that is the pride and treasure of the Top of the Vine. Mel
