I believe Paul Liscio is correct on the rooms being comped as part of the convention contract, so there are no member funds used to pay for them. If true, what you are suggesting would be akin to calling for all club officers to pay for every drink they have at the casino instead of accepting free drinks while playing.

One doesn't need to be a member of any "click" to realize this.
