If you have a 1965 Volkswagen and are claiming is is a Duesenberg, well maybe, because it is painfully evident...Items like the paper weights and ashtrays they could care less.
Don, you are an astute collector and know your collecting fields. Many do, but many don't. If people would do their homework and try and learn something they could save themselves a bunch of money.
I think back to the recent Silver Slipper and El Rancho mustard pots that were offered and they sold for over $100.00...They were out right "fantasy" junk, couldn't even give them the courtesy of a repro, nothing like it ever existed.
Then the same folks offering the El Rancho Ceramic Doorknob...Give me a break. Guy that got it swears it is legit...Ceramic door knobs went away about the time of horse and buggies...Then the phony logos used on them all.
Nobody knows everything, but take advantage of the CCGTCC "Ask the Experts" feature. I and many others are there and happy to help. If we do not know we will point you to someone who does. It's all about education. Learn and enjoy!!
