I believe they WERE the backup set, but might not be anymore. Here is what Vic sent me a while back when I enquired.
The guy I know deals craps and told me that they were a back-ups to the BJ "speedchips". He said that the dealers, especially the craps dealers, do not like the BJ chips because they are too slippery. I told him that I did hear that they take some getting use to. He suspects that the dealers will get their way and the casino will retire the new speed chips and go back to the clay style chip. I would not be surprised if they were swapped out by Halloween. The Isle has so few tables now I can't imagine them replacing all their new chips, but who knows. I would think that would be expensive.
Although I just posted the chips recently, I've had them for about a month, so something could have changed during that time.
I wonder what date Eugene picked these up at the casino?
