I can only assume based on your email address that you are licensed to practice law in some state(s) within the country.

I would think you would be more interested in learning who authorized this litigation against Mr. Whalen on behalf of the club?

Where in the club by-laws or charter does it give authorization to enter into any form of litigation without the express authorization of and approval of the club members?

What notices were provided to the club members of such litigation? What funds were expended to pursue this litigation? What notifications and periodic updates were provided by the board that entered into this litigation to it’s members?

How much of the club’s a cash reserve have been expended to date?

And now that this ridiculous and possibly malicious litigation failed, who will be liable for any judgments against the club?

Those questions seem far more important than the one you are seeking from me……
