Just before the it was announced that the club had sued Dave Whalen, I was talking with him about "the problem". We talked about doing something similar to what you said.

He was willing to take high resolution scans of the chips that he had repaired and I was going to list them in a seperate section at chipguide.com. That way, when someone was looking at a high end chip, they could compare it with the scans that I was hosting and see if there was a match.

It was an interesting concept. Too bad it never got of the ground.
