>>>Any respect due to 'the office' has long ago been squandered
Respect for the office comes from the fact that the government of the people, by the people, and for the people, was established from the courage and blood of those who came before us. It can't be "squandered" except in the minds of those who have forgotten the true price of the freedom they take for granted each day.
>>>--- 9/11, --- Never should have happened.
Since 9/11 was approximately eight months after Mr. Bush actually took office and this event was in planning for years, just where would you care to place the blame? My personal opinion is that it couldn't have been prevented given conditions at the time and trying to lay "blame" is simply foolish.
>>>--- Katrina, --- A total disgrace,
Natural disasters tend to be just that.
>>>--- Wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq, ---
We should never have invaded Iraq, but wimpy Bush wanted to play cowboy, and told whatever lies he needed to get us involved.
Whether or not we should have invaded Iraq will be debated for decades to come. However, it should be noted that UN 1441 was passed unanimously in 2002 (including France) prior to the US intelligence report to the UN and Congress authorized the war in bi-partisan fashion. Clearly, it took a lot more than one man playing "cowboy".
It's ok to disagree on policy and tactics.. rhetoric is just that.
>>>--- North Korea and Iranian nuclear crisis, --- Two more chances for Bush and his cronies to foul up.
Given what is at stake here.. could you please point me to the solution to which you agree?
>>>Lynchings would be more appropriate.
We don't even allow that for terrorists that cut the heads off the innocent.
Have a good one.
