Kopel gets it perfectly. What you don't get is that we don't have enough men in an all volunteer force to get the job done right. We are moving forces from one area to another in Iraq. This leaves one area unprotected while we try to stop bombings in Bagdad. How can anyone follow the daily events in Irag and not see that we have badly mishandled the situation?
You say we are all at war!!! Then why do we have less than 1/10 of a percent of our population doing the job for the rest of us? Like everyone, I honor our Armed Forces. I just can not accept that they are being used like cannon fodder while the rest of us go about our daily lives unaffected (except emotionally) by world events.
Sorry if this topic is not palatable to some. But we can not sweep it under the rug and pretend it is not there.
